Lilith Street grew up surrounded by avid readers, but it was her book collection on her own shelf within her family library that developed her love of reading. As a child, she would read the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson and Christina Rossetti. She always had a little quirky librarian side to her as she would loan out her books to her family and friends. She spent many weekends and holidays in used bookstores and antique shops, on the hunt for rare, obscure books as well as antique pictures from 1800s painters. She draws from John Williams Waterhouse's use of a female muse, from which a sketch is taken, then made into a composite medieval character with paint. The original muse was a woman from his era, who was asked by formal invitation to sit for the artist in London. Lilith also uses composite characters, drawn from more than one muse, who become the eventual picture of the character in her stories and books Lilith started writing at the young age of 10. She was always in advanced programs throughout her elementary and high school years. The pressure she experienced her to suffer from an eating disorder for five years. Ageless Confessions is about an eating disorder clinic that Lilith spent time in and describes a different way to recover based on unconditional love. In compiling her stories for Ageless Confessions, she drew from her own life experiences as well as her imagination to recreate scenes of an area in Victoria - Fairfield and Rockland. She felt her preceding short stories about various times in history and social classes were necessary to set the tone or atmosphere of the novel. This she calls “a segue”. Her segue follows the chronology of her short stories set in Jerusalem in 985BC about Queen Abigail, one of seven prophetesses of Israel; Rockland in 1897 about Cecelia living in the oppressive 1800s; Fairfield in 1994 about a shadowy figure of a woman wandering the amongst the graves at Ross Bay Cemetery; Rockland in 1998 about many young women with eating disorders seeking to enter the City of Roses. Ageless Confessions is Street’s first fiction book. "There’s definite promise in Street’s prose, as she has a knack for poetic description: “When kindness would rule as a queen, the night would be star-thick, spelling joy from one generation to the next.” ... respectably ambitious.
