May 20 - 26 was Cycling4Diversity Week. The Cycling4Diversity FoundationTeam finished their tour in Mission, visiting schools throughout the day and celebrating at the Mission Sikh Temple. Thank you to Ken Herar and his team for bringing awareness and encouraging cultural diversity in our community.

I had a chance to spend some time at Sandcastle Preschool last week. Beyond the bright colours and puzzles, fun toys and obstacles, it was a joy to see the happy smiles of the children clamouring in front of my camera.

I saw a caring environment inclusive of all the children in the classroom, a microcosm of the inclusive and caring community that the Mission Association for Community Living thrives to create.

This year MACL is celebrating 60 years of services in Mission. Beyond supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and children & families who require extra support, MACL envisions choices, opportunities and quality of life realized for all. To that end, they offer residential services; employment services & bridge skills development; and Sandcastle Preschool and supported child development program.

23rd Annual BC Ukrainian Festival

With such vibrant colours and enthusiasm, the 23rd Annual BC Ukrainian Festival did not disappoint. The music and art, the costumes and food gave Mission a glimpse of the beautiful Ukrainian culture and the diverse tapestry that makes up our community.
