Follow along below for a recipe featuring locally grown and made ingredients, including Hunters' Dale sunflower microgreens:
Ingredients: * Locally made deli meats or mushrooms: Choose your favourite variety or swap out for your favourite mushrooms if you want to skip the meats. You can find some at Meridian Meats * Hunters' Dale sunflower microgreens: Fresh and packed with nutrients. * Baked fresh daily bread from Bear Country Bakery * Locally grown lettuce: Mission City Farmers Market * Locally made mustard: From some of the best local spread makers. (I usually find the best mustard at my local Farmers Market) Instructions: 1. Prepare the Bread: * Start with two slices of freshly baked bread. The aroma and texture of fresh bread will set the foundation for your perfect sandwich. 2. Spread the Mustard: * Generously spread locally made mustard on both slices of bread. I like to warm the mustard up slightly and mix it with some home made mayo. The tangy and flavourful mustard will add a delicious kick to your sandwich. 3. Add the Deli Meats or Mushrooms: * Layer your choice of locally made deli meats on one slice of bread. The quality of the meats will bring richness and depth to every bite. 4. Layer the Lettuce: * Place a handful of crisp, locally grown lettuce from Local Harvest Market on each slice of bread. The freshness of the lettuce adds a satisfying crunch. 5. Top with Sunflower Microgreens: * Finally, add a generous portion of Hunters' Dale sunflower microgreens. These microgreens are not only packed with flavour but also bring a nutritious boost to your sandwich. 6. Assemble and Enjoy: * Close the sandwich with the other slice of bread and press gently to ensure everything stays in place. Slice the sandwich in half, if desired, and serve immediately to enjoy the freshest flavours. |
