By Joy Cox & Margaret Peake | Photos by Margaret Peake The Ninth Mission Festival of Trees and Dramatic Reading of Clement Clarke Moore's “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, took place December 10th to 14th and was a success.
The festival is held to support the Mission Christmas Bureau, and the five-day event managed to raise $2,000.00 in cash donations, and many pounds of non-perishable food items, as well as toys and Christmas gifts. Thank you for all the generosity of everyone who attended the event. There were 26 decorated Christmas trees from various, groups, families, churches, businesses, and organizations that were distributed through the Christmas Bureau to families/seniors in need in the Mission community. What a beautiful display of trees we had in All Saints Anglican Church Hall. There were 44 volunteers involved, plus the entertainers who performed throughout the event, and in the Dramatic Reading, Jennifer Johnson, who read “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, and to our two emcees Jo Priestley at the Opening, and Jane Boutilier at the Closure of the Event.
