SARA FOR WOMEN IGNITING HOPE: 50 YEARS OF STRENGTH & RESILIENCE
This milestone event celebrated five decades of empowering women and providing refuge, support, and advocacy. SARA for Women is a non-profit that has spent 50 years evolving from its grassroots beginnings as FRONYA, founded in 1975 by Sharon Syrette and Lynne Duncan around a kitchen table. Throughout this journey, it has continuously provided free, life-changing services—including emergency shelters, second-stage housing, outreach, and counselling—to support women and their children in the Fraser Valley as they reclaim their lives from abuse, trauma, and inequality. SARA For Women has a goal to raise $50,000 this summer to support women and children fleeing violence. To contribute, visit https://tinyurl.com/SARA-For-Women-Ignite-Hope ©2025 What's On! Mission.
