MY House is a warm and welcoming environment for our community's most vulnerable youth to find refuge. “MY House basically saved my life. Friends recommended it to me. The love I felt there made me stay.” - A youth who came to MY House homeless and now lives back at home.
Hope Central provides meals for vulnerable adults and families living in our community as well as physical, spiritual, social, and psychological support. Hope Central's vision is to alleviate poverty which requires a holistic approach that affirms that all people experience poverty at some time and that solutions are often complex and long-term. “We have a vision of rallying like-minded groups, churches, charities, businesses and individuals to collaborate in a unified community that brings hope to individuals facing poverty.” - Hope Central Join us on February 24 in the Coldest Night of the Year, a family-friendly fundraising event to engage our community and supporters in raising funds for MY House and Hope Central. Reach out to your friends and family to join and make a difference for the local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is an event where you can team up, fundraise, walk, and gather for good. The walk is 2km/5km starting and ending at Copper Hall on February 24. “We walk through the cold and dark on February 24, to declare our concern for people who have no home and take shelter in nooks and crannies. We walk for those whose days are a battle to house and feed their families and whose nights are filled with fear and frustration. We walk for those driven from home by violence and abuse. And we walk for people overwhelmed by isolation, guilt, and despair. We walk humbly, realizing that anyone can lose their footing and then lose everything else.” - Coldest Night of the Year Join us as we take one step at a time to a warm home, safety, and health for others.
