“No doubt that he is a slide guitar master, he is the business” Roots Magazin On Friday May 18 at 7:30pm, the Harrison Festival Society will be presenting the world-renowned British slide guitarist Martin Harley at the Harrison Memorial Hall. This will be the Society’s final show of its 2023/24 Season of the Performing Arts, before undertaking final preparations for the 2024 Harrison Festival of the Arts (July 12-21).
Martin Harley has been making music and touring the world for over two decades. Exploring roots, blues and slide guitar in a style The Guardian referred to as ‘Spellbinding’, Harley has released eight albums to date: four recorded on home soil in his native UK, and four across the Atlantic in Texas and Nashville. Martin’s solo shows are known for mixing excellent musicianship and songwriting with a down-to-earth sense of humour, and tales of 3 decades of world travel. In 2022 Martin released and toured the Harley Kimbro Lewis album with Grammy nominated musicians Daniel Kimbro and Sam Lewis, which received excellent reviews. His recent nominations include American Musician’s Association instrumentalist of the year, Best Acoustic Guitarist, and Best Acoustic Blues artist. The show begins at 7:30pm pm with doors opening at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.harrisonfestival.com, or at the Ranger Station Gallery in Harrison. There will also be tickets available at the door. ©2024 What's On! Mission. All Rights Reserved. What's On! Mission is published under license from Blueberry Publications.
