I can't recall the last time a book made me burst into laughter so frequently that I ended up spitting out my coffee. The Crazy Life & Times of Jack "Rat" Fink is an exhilarating tale that chronicles the mind-blowing exploits and escapades of Jackson "Rat" Fink and Antoine "Juice" Hawkins. These best friends, who have been inseparable since preschool, find themselves embarking on thrilling adventures in 1980s Seattle. Their shared thrill-seeking nature often leads them into trouble with their parents and, eventually, with the law. While this story may not be suitable for young or sensitive readers, you will undoubtedly find yourself laughing along with Rat and Juice on their extraordinary journeys. This book is Jerry's follow up to his also hilarious Memoir of a Hockey Nobody. Jerry was born in Burnaby. He grew up with 4 sisters. Like many Canadian youth with an NHL dream, he spent hours playing street hockey with friends. He loved many sports, but his true passion was being a hockey goalie. When he graduated high school in 1979, he didn’t think to pursue a college or university education. He ended up in Mission with his wife and daughter with no plans to ever write a book. After his friends encouraged him to share his gift of story-telling, he wrote his first book, Memoir of a Hockey Nobody, the #1 hockey book on Amazon.ca. He says "This writing thing just kind of snuck up on me later in life and I am really enjoying it.” Stan "The Hockey Maven" Fischler (author of over 100 books) said, "I loved it so much I finished it on Sunday and started reading it again on Monday!" Jerry is starting a podcast in September called, "Hockey, Books, & Storytellers with Teabag & Tone" with his friend Craig "C-Tone" Reidy. When asked about the possibility of another novel or sequel, he reveals that he is currently developing a detective/murder mystery with a supernatural twist. The work is taking shape, with the working title 'Friday Mike'. For a good time, you have to pick up a copy of The Crazy Life & Times of Jack "Rat" Fink. ©2024 What's On! Mission.
