The Rotary Club of North Fraser hosted its annual Installation Dinner on June 27th, a hallmark event celebrating the contributions of community leaders and dedicated volunteers. The evening was marked by heartfelt recognition, inspiring speeches, and a sense of unity and commitment to service above self.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees, including dignitaries and exceptional volunteers who have significantly contributed to the community. The outgoing president, Dr. Erin Osterberg, was honoured for her work overseeing significant projects like the changing of the club name to reflect a more inclusive membership, the review and updating of the bylaws, and the support of many community events and initiatives. Dr. Osterberg received heartfelt gratitude and applause from all present. The Rotary Club of North Fraser was pleased to host District Governor David Lukov, who highlighted the bigger picture of Rotary membership, calling the club a family that comes together on an international level to eradicate polio and fight against human trafficking, while also working on local initiatives like donating to Cherub’s Inn to establish a room for young mothers in need. He commended the club's achievements and encouraged continued efforts toward community service and development. A highlight of the evening was the installation of the new executive team for the 2024/2025 term. The incoming leaders were warmly welcomed and took their oaths with a shared vision of furthering the club's mission of service above self. Their enthusiasm and commitment promise a year of impactful projects and strengthened community ties. Another special moment came when longtime Rotarian, Jim Hinds, was honoured for his exceptional volunteer efforts with a service award presented by incoming president, Mike Roux. The event provided an opportunity for members and guests to connect and share experiences while enjoying a delicious meal, reflecting the club's vibrant spirit and dedication to community service. As the new executive team embarks on their term, the club looks forward to another year of making a difference in the lives of many.
