Uniting Women Through Culture and Empowerment: The Story of Punjabi Mutiyaaran Women’s Society5/21/2025
The Punjabi Mutiyaaran Women's Society is a dynamic organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring women from all walks of life, with a special focus on South Asian women. Our mission is to break cultural barriers, bridge connections, and foster communication to build stronger, more inclusive communities. Punjabi Mutiyaaran support women by raising awareness about important issues such as domestic violence, celebrating creative expression, and creating spaces for leadership and dialogue.
Some of our events have included Mela Shoukeena Da, a cultural celebration exclusively for women to connect, celebrate, and network; Dil Di Awaaz Open Mic Night, which gave women the opportunity to share their journeys through any art form; and Kudi atte Mundey di Lohri, a heartfelt celebration of all new life, with a special focus on showcasing the importance of a new baby girl’s birth. This society is made up of seven women - Jash Bains, Jasmine Bhambra, Balneet Toor, Karen Bungar, Binder Randhawa, Manpreet Brar, and I, Rimmi Purewal-Deol- each bringing unique skills, expertise, and passion to the team. Based in the Fraser Valley, our society’s members are active in their respective communities through a variety of impactful initiatives. By addressing challenges that affect women and children, this society aims to drive positive change while uplifting voices that matter.
